This week we've building on the firemen's visit last half term.  We've been looking at the Emergency Services and who else you can call on 999.  This led to some fun role play on the playground where equipment was available for 'policemen/women' to manage our scooter and bike traffic! Interestingly this also led to some fun imaginary play involving superheros - since they rescue us too!

Happy Birthday Charlotte!
Last week the children built themselves a rocket out of old cardboard boxes, allowing them to explore the world using art and creative expression.  This week the rocket became something the children put on like a costume and blasted all over our garden and outer space. Art and creativity was also explored in our stage area, where the children got to graffiti an old sheet.

Our outdoor contribution activity took an interesting turn this week when we left out a book of buildings.  Some of our children used this as inspiration in their construction with some fantastic results! Our Mathematics activity also developed quickly from basic shape and colour  recognition to sorting activities which asked the children to sort by colour or shape or object type.

We've begun learning songs for our Christmas production!  Please keep an eye out in schoolbags for information on tickets and raffle prizes.  We've got some doozies this year!

Lastly, this week we celebrated our playworker Charlotte's birthday (pictured).  The children sang a lovely rendition of 'Happy Birthday' and partied with some minion cake and milk!
