Scarlet Fever

posted 11 May 2016, 06:18 by Dorchester Firststeps
We have had 2 confirmed cases of Scarlet Fever at the pre-school.  Symptoms take 2 to 5 days to appear after the infection and include a sore throat, headache, high temperature, flushed face and swollen tongue.  A rash develops 12 to 48 hours later.  It is best to see your GP if you think your child has Scarlet Fever. More information can be found on the NHS website.
