Harvest week

posted 28 Sept 2012, 09:23 by Dorchester Firststeps
This week has been very busy. At the beginning of the week we were busy making our fruit and vegetables ready for our harvest festival and the afternoon group did some fun vegetable printing. Our harvest service on Wednesday morning went well and the children enjoyed learning and singing our harvest songs. After getting together and chatting about harvest, we made a mind map and the children decided that they wanted to make rock cakes, so on Thursday morning they did make rock cakes. All of the children enjoyed weighing and mixing the ingredients, then tasted their creations in the cafe, before taking one home to share with their family. If you have anything to add to our mind map of harvest please feel free. It will be available for you to add your ideas.
